Sad news reverberating through the world of rock & pop, with the passing of Irish superstar Dolores O’Riordan of the Cranberries – the multi-platinum 90’s band who gave us hit’s like “Linger” & “Zombie” & were a massive musical force through the 90’s. O’Riordan died suddenly in a London studio where she was supposed to be a quick creative session and then head over to Toronto to visit her “babies” and then return home to Ireland.
Last year, the Cranberries were making plans for a reunion tour, but had to cancel due to O’Riordan’s health issues. She was dealing with a back problem at the time, but she also struggled with bi-polar disorder.
Fans & Celebrity peers from all over the world are beside themselves with this huge loss. Many, like you & I, still remember the first time we heard that magical, other-worldly voice mixed into the sonics of alternative rock. Her gift, is actually OUR gift & all we can do is be grateful for the legacy she left behind & that distinct, elegant yet ballsey voice! RIP Dolores. – April
