Careless Driving Incident - Not So 'Black And White'
LETHBRIDGE: A picture may paint a thousand words but, in this case, the picture was
misleading.
Callers to the Country 95 News Room wanted to know if the officer involved in
this incident would be charged for rear-ending another vehicle. The short answer
is "No", because that isn't what happened.
Shortly after 11:00 on Tuesday morning, a marked police cruiser was
north-bound on 13th street south and entered the intersection on 6th Avenue on a
green light. The police cruiser was struck by an east-bound SUV.
The officer and the driver of the SUV were not injured and both vehicles
sustained minor damage. However, a 16-year old girl was charged with careless
driving, which carries a penalty of $402.
