Callers to the Country 95 News Room wanted to know if the officer involved in this incident would be charged for rear-ending another vehicle. The short answer is "No", because that isn't what happened.

Shortly after 11:00 on Tuesday morning, a marked police cruiser was north-bound on 13th street south and entered the intersection on 6th Avenue on a green light. The police cruiser was struck by an east-bound SUV.

The officer and the driver of the SUV were not injured and both vehicles sustained minor damage. However, a 16-year old girl was charged with careless driving, which carries a penalty of $402.
