Lethbridge Fire Department Remind Residents To Check Smoke Detectors When Setting Clocks Ahead
Lethbridge: As you set your clocks ahead one hour this weekend, the Fire Department is
reminding you to check your smoke alarm to make sure it's working and change the
batteries.
There have been 7 house fires this year and smoke detectors
have played a vital role in keeping people safe in many of these fires.
"This is a simple device. It's inexpensive, it's easy to maintain and we
remind people, this is your life and it could be as simple as that annoying
sound happening once in a while. Please, leave those detectors up in place."
said Fire Chief Brian Cornforth.
It's recommended you replace your smoke detector if it's more than 10 years
old.
