More Advance Polling Opportunities For Municipal Election
LETHBRIDGE - Additional advance polling stations are being added in Lethbridge for the
municipal election in October.
Earlier this month, City Council approved advance voting stations at City
Hall, Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre and at Fritz Sick Memorial Centre. On Monday,
they added the University Drive Alliance Church and the LDS Church on 28th
Street south.
Councillor Jeff Coffman feels there are a couple benefits to the new plan. He
says "it provides a greater opportunity for our students at the College and
University to actually participate in the local election and that's a
demographic we would really like to get out and hear their voices electorally,
the second thing is does is it provides the opportunity for people on the west
side and in the deep south to actually get out on an advance poll."
Advance polling is now open to all eligible voters and is set to take place
on Friday, October 18th followed by election day on Monday, October 21st. Posted on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 6/19/2013 4:42:08 PM
