Civic Census Now Underway

LETHBRIDGE:  The City began its annual census on Monday and needs everyone to take part. Mayor Rajko dodic explains why, "The purpose of the census is to help the City maximize the per-capita funding we receive from other orders of Government. These funds are used for community facilities such as the Community Arts Centre, Twin Ice Arenas and the new Cemetery."

If you live in the city, you can take part by filling out an on-line form on the city's website

If you can't take advantage of the on-line form, census takers will start door knocking on Saturday, April 6th. They will be out during the first three-weeks of April and will be wearing photo I-D cards.

No matter how you take part in the civic census, it is confidential and only takes a minute. You will be asked just three simple questions. "How many people live in your home, their ages and gender".

During the 2012 ciivic count, it was learned 89,074 people lived in Lethbridge.
