Progress Expected on Sexual Assault and Attempted Kidnapping Charges from Vulcan

LETHBRIDGE: Progress may finally be on the horizon in a case that goes back over a year.

20-year old Andrew James Gregory of Vulcan was arrested January 31st, 2012 and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. It's alleged that Gregory carried on several relationships with girls under the age of 16.

Gregory is also accused of attempted kidnapping for an incident January 30th of 2012. A young boy told Vulcan RCMP that a man driving a pickup truck approached and then chased him. The boy managed to get away and ran home.

Thursday in court Gregory's lawyer stated that they plan on holding a preliminary hearing, which could lead to a trial, but need a little more time to get everything in place. The case was then adjourned until April 23rd.
