Protest Focussed on Provincial Cuts to Programs for Developmentally Disabled

LETHBRIDGE: A large crowd gathered at Civic Park just off 6th Avenue South Wednesday afternoon, in protest of provincial cuts to community access programs for people with developmental disabilities.

'RALLY FOR REASON' organizer Jim Cherewick explained the importance of the services they offer, "We take our people out into the community to volunteer, to get them to appointments, so they can live the same meaningful life that you and I take for granted."

He noted that without the support, a number of individuals would likely be confined to their homes.
