ATV Safety Was On Display At Aggie Days

LETHBRIDGE - The Lethbridge and District 4-H Club put on a safety demonstration for All Terrain Vehicles during Aggie Days this week.

It was designed to show kids the proper way to ride an ATV or Quad to avoid injury.

14-year-old Alley Handsaeme led the demonstration and discussed the proper safety gear kids should be wearing. She says "you have your biking pants, your boots, your rib protector, your gloves, and especially your helmet that protects you, if you don't have that then you might as well not be riding at all."

Handsaeme adds you should also know what your skill level is. She says "if you can't handle the terrain in there or if there's too many turns and you're not comfortable on the trail, don't go on it. You want it to be easy for you, you don't want to be hurt and you want to be safe."
