LETHBRIDGE: An escapade that began with police being notified that a man was in breach of
recognizance resulted in a police cruiser being rammed, an escape on foot and
hide-and-seek with a K-9 unit.
The incident happened in the early morning hours on Friday, as Regional
Police responded to a report that a man had breached the conditions of his
The suspect was located inside a vehicle in the parking lot of a business
along the 1000 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South. When he saw the police car,
the man drove his vehicle toward police and struck the police car before fleeing
the area at a high rate of speed.
The suspect’s vehicle was located a short time later along the side of the
road in the Stewart Siding area where he had fled on foot. A K-9 unit
eventually located the man hiding on the roof of a nearby house.
