LETHBRIDGE: Regional Police are investigating the sexual
assault of a 26-year-old city woman.
On Monday, June 24th, the woman went to the Regional hospital and reported
she had be sexually assaulted on Thursday, June 20th. At about 1:30 that
morning, she left the Top Hat bar on 1st Avenue South and was walking alone
along 12 A Street South near the entrance to the alley, when she was grabbed
from behind by an unknown male.
The victim fell to the ground and was sexually assaulted. She was then able
to flee from the man.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, about
30-40 years old, with an average build, scruffy, light-coloured facial hair,
wrinkles around his mouth, stained chipped teeth and sunburned skin. He smelled
of cigarette smoke and was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, white
skateboard shoes, dark pants, a belt with a silver loop and an earring in his
