LETHBRIDGE: Regional Police are asking members of the public to
come forward with any information they may have on a pair of early morning street
About 1:17 Friday morning, a 37-year-old
man was walking near the 500-block of 5th Avenue north, when he was approached
by two unknown men. The two suspects began yelling at the victim and then one
struck him in the face multiple times. Two women then stole a bag the victim had
set down on the ground which contained two passports, medication, cash, a wallet
and keys. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical
The man who assaulted the victim is
described as Aboriginal, mid 20s, about five-feet-nine inches tall with buzz cut
hair. He was wearing a blue/turquois shirt. No description was provided for the
The two women were both Aboriginal. One was about six
feet tall and wearing shorts. The second woman was heavy set, shorter, and
wearing a white shirt.
The second incident happened around
1:50-am in the 300-block of 13th street north.
Tow men, aged 47 and 28, were walking in the area
when they were confronted by four unknown males. The younger victim ran from
the area and the older victim was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked.
The second victim also had his medication and a quantity of cash stolen. He was
taken to hospital and treated for a broken arm and cuts.
