"The College Home" Project Is Officially Underway

LETHBRIDGE - Galko Homes and Ashcroft Homes will be involved in creating the first houses to be sold as part of "The College Home" project.

The collaborative partnership between the Canadian Home Builders Association Lethbridge Region and Lethbridge College was announced back in February.

Builders will put up two homes a year over the next five years, with proceeds from the home sales going towards the Trades and Technology Renewal and Innovation project at Lethbridge College.

The College will also be donating a $2,500 tuition credit to the home buyer for each of the 10 homes.

College President Paula Burns says the partnership "shows that whole progression from students becoming trades people to being the people who are actually working on the homes to those Master tradesman who've been part of the community for a long time and who are contributing back and seeing the need to not only contribute to our new Trades and Technology Renewal and Innovation project but also to the program itself and supporting students going through."

Both homes are expected to be unveiled this year at the Parade of Homes in Lethbridge from September 21 to October 6th.
