LETHBRIDGE: The first candidate to seek a seat as a city councillor in the October 21st Civic Election has come forward.
19-year old Dillon Hargreaves made the decision to run last year, after serving as the Lethbridge College Student Association President.
He addressed why he feels it's important to add some youth to council, "Lethbridge is the only city in Alberta, besides Edmonton and Calgary, to have more than one post secondary institution. So as such we have a high student population here in the city, and that's a group and a demographic that's not generally represented on council."
Hargreaves added that he also served as the Director of Finance for the Alberta Student Executive Council, a group that represents students across the province.
