Henderson Lake Drowning Deemed 'Non-suspicious'

LETHRBIDGE:    Regional Police have determined the case involving a body found in Henderson Lake is non-suspicious.

An autopsy was completed on Friday in Calgary and police ruled out foul play.

The deceased has been identified as a 16-year-old boy. Because the incident is deemed non criminal, the boy's name will not be released.

About 11:30 Wednesday night, witnesses called 9-1-1 after seeing someone disappear below the surface of Henderson Lake. Divers found the teen's body on Thursday morning.

Fire and EMS Platoon Chief Ken Mercer stated the two witnesses did the right thing by not going in after the victim. Mercer noted that Henderson Lake is very murky and once under water there's almost zero visibility, making it extremely dangerous.
