Lethbridge College in Good Shape Despite Provincial Cuts

LETHBRIDGE: Despite a provincial funding cut of 7.3-per cent to post secondary institutions earlier this year, staff at Lethbridge College aren't too worried about the future with classes not into their first week.

President Paula Burns noted that there has been no impact on students this year, and they're working on plans to keep things that way, "At this point what we're looking at is just different ways to do things, as opposed to cutting things. Our whole vision really is about leading and transforming education in Alberta, so looking at new ways to do things with the resources that we have."

Burns also went on to say that before making any changes that could affect students, they're making sure to gather feedback and ideas from their instructors, "We are actually involving our staff. We involve them in creating our strategic framework as well as creating the implementation plan. All of that is tied to how we use our resources."
