LETHRBIDGE: The loss of a well-known local business leader will be felt across a wide
strata of the community.
Del Allen passed away Tuesday night at the age of 70. Lethbridge Mayor Rajko
Dodic issued the following statement Thursday morning:
"The passing of Del Allen is a huge loss for
both his family and our community. A recipient of numerous awards, Mr. Allen
exemplified what it means to be a community leader through his commitment to
education and his support of an array of community groups.
Mr. Allen has left a lasting mark on our community. Our
thoughts and prayers are with his family".

Del was born in Medicine Hat, and moved to Lethbridge
when he was young. In 1975 he started his own business, D.A.
Aside from his business, Del was committed to and
engaged in the Lethbridge community from a philanthropic standpoint. He is well
known for numerous donations to both the University of Lethbridge and the
College. He also financially supported the Boys and Girls Club of Lethbridge and numerous
sports organizations throughout the city.
