No Change To County Council Positions

LETHBRIDGE - There won't be any changes to Lethbridge County Council positions this term. No election will be needed on Monday, since all seven positions were acclaimed.

Lorne Hickey will remain the Reeve after a vote on Thursday morning. As well, Henry Doeve will serve another term as Deputy Reeve.

Hickey says last year was a busy time for the County and they want to continue with some of the things they started. He points to the introduction of an economic development officer and says "we're looking to continue to expand the work of that department. Economic development for the County is one of the most important things moving forward as we try and balance out our income, so to speak, to match our expenses."

He adds over the next four years they will also focus on fixing some of the drainage issues in the County and maintaining current infrastrucutre.
