LETHBRIDGE: Farm Credit Canada is trying to help drive away hunger in southern Alberta.
Thursday they drove a tractor and trailer around Lethbridge and Coaldale, collecting food and cash donations for local food banks. It's part of a national campaign that's working to stock the shelves of food banks right across the country.
Over the last nine years Farm Credit Canada has managed to bring in roughly 11-million pounds worth of food through FCC Drive Away Hunger, with this years goal set at 5-million pounds.
FCC District Director Blaine Gorrell noted that to start the week they have brought in 3.3-million pounds nationally.
