Police Hope Public Can Help Locate Owners of Found Money and Diamond Rings

LETHBRIDGE:    Regional Police hoping the public can help identify the rightful owners in two cases of found property.

On October 3rd of 2013, an employee at Value Village on Mayor Magrath Drive found a significant quantity of money in the pocket of a coat that had been donated.

Then, on August 26th, 2013 a citizen attended the police station and turned in a wedding ring set that she found while sweeping up at the Rona store along the 2200 block of 32 Street South. The set includes a yellow gold diamond engagement ring and wedding band.

Attempts to locate the owners of the money and the ring set have been unsuccessful.

In both cases proof of ownership will be required in order to claim the property. To claim the money, the rightful owner will need to be able to identify the exact amount and provide a description of the coat it was found in. To claim the ring documentation such as an insurance appraisal, receipt or other proof, will be required.

To claim the property please contact the LRPS Exhibit Custodians at 403-330-5009.

Police wish to publicly commend the Value Village employee and Rona employee who found these items. Thank you for your honesty and integrity.
