Alberta Liberal Leader Visiting Lethbridge To About Hear Local Issues
LETHBRIDGE - Alberta Liberal Leader Raj Sherman is in Lethbridge this weekend.
On Friday night, he will be meeting with student groups to talk about funding
cuts to post secondary institutions and how they are impacting the local population.
On Saturday morning, he will be sitting down with the Mayor and members of
City Council to discuss municipal issues and see what's important to the
citizens of Lethbridge.
Alberta's municipal leaders gathered in Calgary this week for the AUMA conference and Sherman says "they have concerns about EMS dispatch, seniors
lodge programs, sustainable, predictable funding, but the real issue is that
your municipal leaders are looking for a new relationship with the provincial
government based on respect, shared responsibility and revenue, which is
opposite of what Premier Redford is offering up."
