Alberta's tougher drinking & driving laws

Here's the propsal in a nutshell

A person caught driving over the legal limit of .08 for the first time would lose their vehicle for three days, and lose their licence until the criminal charge is resolved. They'd also have to install an alcohol screening device for one year at their own cost.

Drivers caught repeatedly with blood alcohol levels between .05 & .08 would lose their vehicle & licenses for up to 3 days. New licensee's could lose their license up to 30 days should any alcohol be in their system.
