Apparently, a website called The Daily Currant published an articled that claimed that Yeezy was "under fire" for claiming that he will be bigger than Mandela -- who passed away last Thursday (December 5th). According to the story, the rapper was asked about the South African icon and said, "I am the next Nelson Mandela. I’m only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I’ve accomplished, it’s the only comparison that makes any sense. By the time I’m 95, I’m going to be a bigger hero than he ever was." The interview also claimed that Ye tried to clean up his mess, saying, "Nelson Mandela did a lot of good work, don't get me wrong. But I think I’m on track to do something even bigger. I liberate minds with my music. That's more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever."

Gaga appeared on the British TV show, Alan Carr's Chatty Man and said, "I don't think that we should be going to the Olympics at all. I don't know if my opinion is not highly regarded, in terms of the amazing champions and people that are rehearsing and training for the event… I mean I would never take anything away from their hard work, I just think it is absolutely wrong for so many countries to give money and economy in the way of a country that doesn't support gays."

The former Disney star also revealed that today’s female artists can be "intimidating," saying, "It's such a different business now. Honestly, it can be intimidating. I'm not comparing myself to (Miley Cyrus) but a lot of the things that go on in pop music are not me or who I am. Or not yet. Who knows what I'm going to wake up tomorrow and feel like?" She continued, "I really just try to come and be who I am... And one person that I think is a really good example is Taylor Swift. She's really honest with her lyrics and her stage show isn't like some crazy thing that's controversial. But I think what Miley Cyrus is doing is really cool and I think she's being who she wants to be and that is important. And so I respect that."

Smith recalled, "I was working a crap job and thinking about those images of those people in Pompeii -- my life was also in stasis. I imagined a conversation between two people frozen in the same position forever. I quite like the idea that people have been hearing it on the radio and are at festivals jumping around, but actually it's a song about two old corpses talking."
