The nominations are in for the NME Awards 2014 with Austin, Texas and Arctic Monkeys are leading the way.
The group - along with Alex Turner, who is alive and well - are listed in eight categories, including Best British Band, Best Live Band and Best Fan Community.
Meanwhile, three of the biggest names in showbiz are locking horns for a rather questionable prize.
It's a battle Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke won't want to win as they make the shortlist for Villain of the Year.
Joining them in the category are British Prime Minister David Cameron, Russian President Vladimir Putin and comedian Russell Brand, who also gets a mention in the Hero of the Year category alongside the Arctic Monkeys frontman.
It seems the readers of NME aren't quite as into the One Direction boys
as we are, with the band appearing alongside The Wanted, Muse, Imagine
Dragons, 30 Seconds To Mars and The 1975 as the nominees for Worst Band.
awards manage to promote diversity, though, with the likes of Sir Paul
McCartney, David Bowie, Jake Bugg, Lorde, Lily Allen and Kanye West
battling for the Best Solo Artist gong.
Voting is now open at
NME.com/awards, and it closes on February 21, just five days before the
event at London's O2 Academy Brixton.
