OTTAWA: Macleod MP Ted Menzies will now assume a junior post as minister of state for finance.

Menzies former post included duties as the parliamentary secretary to the minister of finance, a position he assumed in October 2007.

He was one of four politicians tapped on the shoulder during a mini federal cabinet shuffle.

Former newscaster MP Peter Kent was promoted to environment minister, and MP Julian Fantino is the mew minister of state for seniors.
