Poor Judgment = Make Work Project For Regional Police

Lethbridge:   A report of a gun spotted on a vehicle dashboard in the downtown area just before nine  Wednesday night caused a flurry of anxious activity for Regional  Police.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 900-block of first avenue south with four people inside. Multiple officers were quickly on-scene and used a loud speaker to give verbal commands to the occupants.

The four, two 18-year old men, a 19-year old man and a 20-year old male, left the vehicle when ordered.  It turned out the gun was an air-soft pistol mistakenly left in plan sight on the dashboard.

Since the piston was not pointed or used in a threatening way, the men were not charged and were released with a warning.
