LETHBRIDGE: A design error is going to mean extra work on the Enmax Centre.
GEC Architecture designed the renovation project, and as part of those plans they called for shower taps in the change room to be over six feet off the ground, making it a long reach for a number of people using the facility.
Enmax General Manager Kim Gallucci acknowledged the problem, adding that he's also concerned that the plumbers never noticed the issue while they were installing it.
Gallucci did note however that they do have a plan to deal with the showers this summer, after the Hurricanes season is over, when they will bring the taps down to a reasonable level.
He added that GEC has taken responsibility for the mistake and will be paying for the work, which is expected to take about two to three weeks to complete.
At this point there's no cost estimate for the project.
