SOUTHERN ALBERTA: Saying it was windy Thursday throughout Southern Alberta, would be a pretty big under-statement.
Environment Canada considers wind to be at Hurricane force when it hits 100-kmph and over.
Many parts of South-West Alberta officially had a Hurricane Thurday.
Peak gusts at Brocket hit 104 -- the wind at Waterton Gate was clocked at
124 -- and Pincher Creek got nailed by a 130-kmph wind. However, that was not a
record wind gust for Pincher Creek. That happened November 19th of 1962, when
the wind peaked at 171-kmph.
