Snowfall Warning Blankets Most of Southern Alberta Saturday Morning

SOUTHERN ALBERTA: A caution if you're planning to travel - there's a heavy snowfall warning in effect for Southern Alberta Saturday morning that's affecting road conditions.

Bassano RCMP say poor visibility, snow drifts and icy road conditions are choking the Trans Canada Highway between Strathmore and Brooks.

Snow plows are having difficulty keeping up with the heavy snow, affecting traffic in both east and west directions.

You can expect temporary road closures in both directions, so you're advised to stay off the roads unless it's an emergency.

These poor road conditions are expected throughout the region Saturday as a heavy snowfall warning is still in effect in all directions - from as far west as Waterton, eastbound through to Lethbridge and Brooks, and as far north as Calgary.
