Lethbridge Man Gets One Year Custody on Drug and Weapons Charges
LETHBRIDGE: Drug trafficking and weapons charges against a 27-year old Lethbridge woman have been withdrawn, after her 28-year old husband took full blame Thursday in court.
July 21st Regional Police searched their home and vehicle, finding over 46-pounds of marijuana and numerous weapons including a handgun, throwing stars, nunchakus and steel knuckles.
During the investigation an 8-year old boy and 2-year old girl were apprehended and given to Child and Family Services.
After entering guilty pleas to the charges, the 28-year old man was sentenced to one year in custody. While the Crown acknowledged that the husband had no prior criminal record and had been very cooperative during the investigation, he noted that the quantity of drugs required a term of custody.
Country 95 News will not be releasing the names of the couple to protect the two young children.
