Council Unveils Five Point Strategy

LETHBRIDGE: City council finalized a new set of priorities for the upcoming term.

The group will focus on five priorities, including open government, financial responsibility and environment.

Mayor Rajko Dodic says cutting in half the number of priorities from last year will help them do more in less time, compared to previous terms.

"We couldn't do all the committees and all the strategic plans to give them the attention we'd like to give them," says Dodic. "So now with the five of them, we'll hopefully be able to do a lot more and communicate to the public that we're doing a lot more."

Council has already taken steps on some of the mission points, like a resolution passed Monday to make committee meetings more accessible to the public.
