Lethbridge Resident Describes Impact of Tsunami on Hawaii

 
 

HAWAII: In the wake of the Friday's massive earthquake and tsunami hitting Japan, other locations in the Pacific Ocean are being told to prepare for high waves.

Lethbridge resident John Deys and his wife are currently vacationing in Maui.

John noted that early this morning they were informed that a tsunami had hit Japan, and that they were under a warning in Hawaii.

They were given the option of moving further away from the shoreline, which they did.

When they returned John explained that a large area in front of their hotel was under water, but that there didn't appear to be any serious damage.

He also described what they've been watching from their hotel room:
