Missing Baby Found With Mother Near Taber

A missing child has been returned after an investigation by Taber and Vauxhall RCMP.

On Friday, Mounties were called with a complaint that an 18-month-old boy was kidnapped by his mother out of Grassy Lake, Alberta.

Taber RCMP set up check stops along the highways and found the mother and the child.

But an investigation revealed there could be no abduction charge laid as there was no documentation to prove the child belonged to one parent over the other.

Children and Victim Services decided the child should be returned to his father.

The mother has accused the father of assault and sexual assault against her.

Charges have been laid in relation to those claims.
