170 Replacement Beds Coming to Chinook Regional Hospital
LETHBRIDGE: The provincial government's sending over 170 new electric beds to the Chinook Regional Hospital.
They'll replace old beds, some of which are more than 20-years old.
The new units will have easy to use controls for patients and hospital staff and would be aimed at preventing bed ulcers, patient falls and back injuries to caregivers. New mattresses will also help reduce bed ulcers for sedentary patients.
The cost of the beds is roughly $2.9-million, and falls under the provincial government Infrastructure Maintenance Program.
