School Lock-down In Magrath Called Off

Magrath:   A lock-down at the Magrath High School was called off at 1:00-pm Monday, after being initiated at about 10:30.  RCMP were called when an 18-year old student left the school in an emotional state and had been overheard discussing firearms.

RCMP Inspector Joe McGeogh confirms a person of interest was taken into custody and the situation was resolved without incident.

Members from several RCMP detachments, including Raymond, Cardston, Taber, Milk River and Lethbridge attended the search for the student.

At no time was the student actually in possession of a firearm at the school.
