Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation Executive Director Takes On Expanded Responsibility

Lethbridge:  Some changes on the way for the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation.

After almost four-years as the Executive Director of the Foundation Debra Ramage is taking a different position within Alberta Health Services.  Ramage will be moving to Calgary to become Director of Foundation Relations.

It won't be a small job, since there are about  75 Foundations and Auxiliaries attached to hospitals across the province, that are now part of Alberta Health services.

Ramage will be the liaison between the individual Foundation Boards and Alberta Health Services, and provide assistance to the Foundations with some of their work.   She notes, "Each Foundation is independent, with their own volunteer Board of Directors".  However, she says, "They are all connected to Alberta Health services in that they raise money for the hospital that they are aligned with".

Every year, each foundation will help their individual hospital raise funds from specific equipment or programs.   The Chinook Hospital Foundation is in the process of helping with refurbishments and has helped set up a short-stay house for the new cancer centre.

Foundation member Jason VandenHoek will take over as Executive Director for the Foundation over the next six-months, until a decision is made about a permanent replacement for Ramage.
