Lethbridge Public Schools Embark On "Kinder Care" Program And Set 2011 Capital Wish-List
Lethbridge: The Lethbridge Public School District is responding to more of the
feedback from recent town hall meetings with a "Kinder Care" program.
An agreement has been signed between the School Board and the Boys and
Girls Club of Lethbridge, to operate the program associated with Agnes Davidson
school. About 35-children will be accommodated and it's designed primarily for
kids aged four and five, who attend kindergarten for a half day.
"Kinder-Care" hours will be from 7-am until 6-pm.
The new program is expected to be up and running at the beginning of the
next school year. For more information, you should contact the Boys and Girls
Club. The District is looking for opportunities to offer the service in other
schools as well.
Also, at its Tuesday afternoon meeting, the Public School Board
approved its 2011 Capital Plan submission to Alberta Education. Topping the
list, is a new elementary school in West Lethbridge. After that, the list
includes complete modernization of three schools -- Wilson Middle school,
Senator Buchanan and Galbraith - in that order. However, the District already
knows there was no new Capital construction for Education in the recent
provincial budget. For now, the District will have to wait for a response from
