No Bail Decision Yet for Men Accused of Assaulting Regional Police Officer

LETHBRIDGE: The two men accused of beating a Regional Police officer to the point where his skull was fractured, won't find out whether or not they'll be granted bail for over a week.

Following their bail hearing Thursday, the judge stated that he needed time "to think about things", and adjourned the matter to April 12th.

Aaron Head and Raymond Asham, both from Calgary, are accused of attacking Constable Norman Smith in the early morning hours of February 23rd, when he tried to arrest one of them.

Following the incident Constable Smith had to be taken to Foothills Hospital in Calgary with a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, a broken nose and lacerations.

He has since returned to Lethbridge where he's recovering with his family.
