Paramedics Working Side-by-Side With Doctors and Nurses in Coaldale

COALDALE: Paramedics and Emergency medical technicians are putting more of their training to use at the Coaldale Health Centre.

Since Alberta Health took over EMS services last October, they've started having the teams help out in rural hospitals and medical centres.

That means when they're not reponding to a call they can help the doctors and nurses.

Paramedic team lead Jeff Slingerland explained that the extra pair of hands seems to be making a difference, and that the extra experience is great for the paramedics involved.
