Lethbridge: As tourists start to plan their summer getaway, a new initiative is being brought in to encourage those tourists to come to Southern Alberta.
The Tourist Cluster Initiative is designed to help promote the many businesses and sites across the region. The $524, 000 plan will first look to identify the people that would want to see what Southern Alberta offers says CEO Chinook Country Tourist Association Kimberly Lyall. Then it will try to explain to those customers what is in the region. The final step will be to actually getting people to take in those attractions and products.
Chinook Tourism will be going out to communities to get input on what they can offer to tourists. They hope that they will get the starting phase of the initiative underway in the next 6 months.
