Coalhurst Man Charged In Fatal Motor Cycle Collision

Lethbridge:   A charge has been laid in the fatal collision on the Highway 25 overpass Sunday afternoon that claimed two lives.

54-year old Michael Johnston of Coalhurst has been charged with making an unsafe left turn, under the Use of Highway and Rules of the Road Regulation.  The charge carries a fine of $115.

Just after 5-pm Sunday, an SUV traveling north on Highway-25 slowed down to make a left turn onto the Highway-3 merge lane when it collided with a south-bound motorcycle.

Both motorcycle riders, 46 year old Derrin Blais and his 45 year old wife Janet, died at the scene.  RCMP state alcohol is not a factor.
