Spending Counterfeit Money Gets Coaldale Woman House Arrest

LETHBRIDGE: A 23-year old Coaldale woman entered a guilty plea Monday, to using counterfeit money at several local businesses last summer.

Billie Anne Paulette admitted to helping spend over $400 worth of fake U.S. $20 bills.

She's been sentenced to a 10-month Conditional Sentence Order, with the first five months keeping her under house arrest, and the last five binding her to a curfew.

During the sentecing Paulette's lawyer explained that her client was a minor player in the spree of incidents, which spanned from August 7th to September 9th at 10 different locations around the city. On most occassions Paulette was simply with the co-accused when he spent the counterfeit money.

It was also noted that after Paulette was arrested September 16th she was very cooperative with police.
