Taber: A 49-year old Taber man who can't be identified, faces a string of charges
after a weekend incident involving unlawful confinement and aggravated assault.
On Saturday night, a man broke into the Taber home of a woman known to him.
He held the 45-year old woman against her will and repeatedly assaulted her over
the course of 12-hours. At the time of the incident, the man was under orders
to have no contact with the woman.
During the assault, the woman was struck
with an object and kicked repeatedly. She remains in hospital with multiple
Police didn't learn of the incident until the woman arrived at Taber
hospital for treatment Sunday afternoon. They located the suspect at another
home in Taber Monday morning.
The suspect faces five charges, including Breach
of condition, Break/entre and committing aggravated assault, Unlawful
confinement, Uttering death threats and Theft under $5000.
