Lethbridge: You are being encouraged to give input on recommendations from an advisory
Council for the southern Alberta regional plan, under the Land-use Framework.
The South Saskatchewan Regional Advisory Council recommended the regional
plan focus on water supply, conservation and economic development. However,
Sustainable Resource Development Minister Mel Knight wants your feedback on that
recommendation. He notes, " This is a busy landscape -- we're attracting 60,000
new people a year".
The people who sat on the advisory council know southern Alberta
and the challenges in the region. Their recommendations underscored the need for
long-term, co-ordinated planning to balance growth, jobs and conservation.

will use the input from Albertans to develop the draft regional plan".
