LETHBRIDGE: Administrative and IT staff along with the fire investigations unit have already moved into the new fire hall downtown.
Front line workers like fire-fighters and paramedics are expected to be in by the end of June, while the dispatch centre should be fully up and running by the fall.
Deputy Chief Roy Pollmuller stated that "you wouldn't find a facility any better anywhere in North America". He explained that it's equiped with state-of-the-art technology that save by money and the environment, through things like a water based heating system.
Pollmuller also noted that communication and efficienty for fire and emergency services will be improved because of the building. He commented that with things like administration, the investigations unit, fire prevention and front line responders all under one roof, it will be easier for them to work together.
