LETHBRIDGE: Regional police made a drug bust on Friday, May 27th, that turned up a wide variety of drugs and lead to the arrest of a woman and five men.
During a search of a home in the 2800-block of 6th Avenue south, the Special Operations Unit found marihuana, hash , psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and other substances suspected to be cocaine and heroin. In addition, police found more than $23,000 in cash, weapons, including a machete, and drug paraphernalia. A vehicle was also seized. Four men and one woman were arrested at the home.
During a traffic stop on the city's west side the same night, police arrested another man associated with the residence.
The woman was released without charges but the five men have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. The men include 19-year old Ross Victor Buckley of Lethbridge, 20-year old Coleman James Wetherelt of Brooks, 21-year old Matthew James Jackson of Canmore, 26-year old Orlando Jose Rodriguez and 26-year old Ian Gordon Field, both of Fernie, B.C.
All the men made their first court appearances on Monday.
