"In Custody" Death On Blood Reserve Being Investigated by ASIRT

 
 
BLOOD TRIBE RESERVE: A death in Blood Tribe Police cells has prompted an investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.

 On Tuesday, May 31st, Blood Tribe Police took a 48-year old man into custody who was believed to be intoxicated and was arrested for breach of recognizance.  While in custody, the man was checked in his cell. Early Wednesday morning he was found unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Services were called and the man was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

ASIRT has been assigned to investigate and has the cooperation of the Blood Tribe Police Service
