LETHBRIDGE: The Chinook Country Tourist Association gathered in Lethbridge Wednesday for workshops and their Annual General Meeting.
A big topic of discussion will be the new Tourism Cluster Strategy which includes an in depth look at the experiences in Southern Alberta, which will help them better understand their customers. They will then offer those experiences on a new online booking system.
CEO Kimberly Lyall says it seems simple but, they are the first group in the country that has taken this approach. She adds if it is difficult for people to purchase the experience or to come here, then they won't.
Lyall says the benefit of online sales is that you can see where you have sold, as opposed to trade shows, where you might talk to a lot of people but its hard to know if they are actually going to buy.
