PC Leadership Candidate Alison Redford Visits Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE: PC leadership candidate Alison Redford used a stop in Lethbridge to discuss her vision of post secondary education.

Redford attended both the University and the College on Thursday.

She feels we need to build Alberta into Canada's post secondary education leader.

Redford says "we have one of the lowest participation rates in post secondary institutions across the country and thats just not acceptable in Alberta."  She adds "one of the reasons we see that is because we also have challenges in high school.  We have to encourage more people to stay in school and graduate so they can enter into post secondary institutions."

Redford also wants to increase the number of people receiving trades training, as well commit to stable and predictable funding for post secondary education with a three year funding cycle.
