Former Access-A-Ride Bus Driver Sentenced For Sexual Assault

LETHBRIDGE: A former City of Lethbridge employee will spend the next 30 months behind bars for sexually assaulting a mentally handi-capped and blind woman.

68-year-old Kennith Patrick Ball plead guilty back in February to sexually assaulting the 47-year-old woman five times on an Access-A-Ride bus that he was driving.

On top of the jail time, Ball must submit a DNA sample and register as a sex offender for 20 years.

The victims mother is satisfied with the sentence, saying "I really wanted the registration on the sex offender act, because even though he's an older man, I didn't want anybody to ever have that happen to them again."

Ball was given credit for having no prior record and cooperating with police during the investigation, however, the breach of trust was an aggravating circumstance.
