SOUTHERN ALBERTA: The region's biggest summer fair announced its line-up today. Whoop-Up Days will run from August 23 to the 27 and will include new acts like a troupe of Chinese acrobats.
Exhibition Park manager Doug Kryzanowski says he's holding off on predictions for how many people the events will draw this year, and focusing instead on creating a quality "meeting place" for the community. "The kind of family-oriented events we run strengthen oneness and family unity and it's also a social thing," Kryzanowski. "If you come to our ag expo, our home and garden or our farmers markets, they gather they discuss. So that's our mandate is being a gathering place southern Alberta."
Advance tickets for the events go on sale starting Monday, July 4th. You can pick them up at Gas King in Lethbridge and Coaldale, as well as ATB Financial in Lethbridge, Cardston, Coaldale, Taber and Pincher Creek. Advance tickets are $10 for a $2 savings. Super tickets for gate and midway admissions (which includes unlimited rides) are $37 for a $15 savings. You can learn more about the events at www.exhibitionpark.ca.
